Dimitris Palaiogiannis

Dimitris was born in Athens, Greece; attended a British school and completed his studies in International Tourism Management BSc (Hons) at University of Brighton, UK.

While in the UK, Dimitris carried out primary research on British residents’ destination image, perception & knowledge of Greece as a holiday destination.

In 2016, participated in P2P International Gambia, a collaboration of international students & local Gambian participants supported by the University of Brighton & local tourism stakeholders. The two groups worked together to develop a business plan for turtle conservation & enhancement of local livelihoods through the implementation of community-based eco-tourism practices as an alternative source of income.

Returning to Greece, Dimitris aspired to develop sustainable tourism forms & strategies in collaboration with local communities and regional stakeholders for the preservation and promotion of culture, traditions & authentic experiences.

As a first step towards the realisation of this vision, Dimitris founded Zorbabook.com, a social marketplace with the aim to promote Greek gastronomy & authentic food experiences. Its mission - To connect travellers with undiscovered destinations, local food, culture and people.
